My thoughts on Doublade:

Lazy design?: -yeah.
Uncreative name?: -oh yes.
Still fucking awesome?: -hellz yeah!

To bad though that ghost n dark attacks now has normal effect on steel types.
It gives Honedge/Doublade many weaknesses.

What you really got to love about Honedge and its evolutions is that you can literally pick one up by the hilt and just go out and start slashing other Pokemon.

And since it IS technically a Pokemon, nobody can complain that you can't use real weapons in a Pokemon battle!

It's a very fine line between violent sociopath and training your Pokemon for more experience however...

And so we're getting to that point where everybody who complained about the shit designs of Gen 5 will look fondly back at them for not being this bad, just as they did for all the shitty designs in generations past.

And when Gen 7 happens, people who complain now will look back at this and say it wasn't so bad compared to some shit current design.
