No these suits don't work on guys period they only work on girls because it gives them just enough junk for their trunks.

I think its because they are secretly magical items like erza's other armors basically they give males a 200 percent boost to their grossness and it gives females just the right amount of booty enhancement to increase their sexyness. If you think of it it really does make sense.
