39 is basically Miku in Japanese numerical puns (goroawase). Mi = 3 (from 'mitsu' = 3), and ku = 9 (from 'kyu' = 9). You see these sorts of things everywhere in Japan, e.g. Shibuya's famous 109 department store is actually read 'Tokyu' (10 = 'To', 9 = 'Kyu').
