I don't think Aegislash would drain the life energy of its own Trainer. It could probably control itself in that regard.

It true that its previous evolutions would drain life energy of who-ever was foolish enough to grab it. However there is no pokedex info saying that its final evolution would do that as well. So until the pokedex says so, to me its safe to hold Aegislash.

In truth, only the entry for the first stage, Honedge, says anything about it stealing the life force of anyone that tries to wield it like an actual sword.
Doublade meanwhile, simply has a comment on how awesome it's Dual-Wield attacks are.
Aegislash, meanwhile, is said to be rather Excalibur-like, with those it chooses being destined to be Kings.

It probably drains the life of those it deems unworthy to wield it which considering many people in modern times is probably a lot more than in Ancient pokemon times.
