He had cancer. He died last year.

I heard he had the ending of the story stored away in a vault somewhere, but I don't know if that's true.

-Sighs- One of the greatest works ever made, its ending never to be known; we the fans will be coming up with scenarios for years to come. Still, it's a privilege that we ever got to know Zero No Tsukaima at all.

Actually the novels are starting up again. They've organized his notes and he had dictated what the main plot points and ending are to be like essentially. So the last two volumes will be coming.
