Actually, no one in Japan actually, Daisuki would make more sense as Aishiteru is the sort of thing which is overly dramatic. It is sort of a language difference. Daisuki or Suki is commonly used for confessions while Aishiteru or Koi (Another word for love.) are more commonly used in dramas and stuff.
