jewelry in a fight would just get in the way, imagine if it got hooked on to something. That's why when you see ppl fight in reality they usually take off their earrings and etc.

If you're in a fight, and you really don't know how to fight, you sorta catch a lucky break if your attacker is wearing jewelry, especially piercings: Just yank them out.
