You can somewhat tell its just playing in reverse by looking at the steam going up and down when she gets in and leaves.

How do you know that? It's also possible that when she stood up, it created an empty pocket of space (low pressure) in which the steam (high pressure) must now move to fill, thus creating the illusion of it "playing in reverse".
