What's sad is that Queen's Blade did make a gamely attempt at a story -- it's just that they discovered that fanservice bordering on pornography was what paid the bills.

If you want to know the story for the QB universe you go to the manga titles. They don't show nipples but you learn whats going on and some of them are pretty funny. I like "Queen's Blade The Exiled Warrior" by Kikkawa Kabao.

An element of fan service blinding you of the story?

Yeeeeah, other way around. Sorry but anyone that pretends that there's some great story behind this series, and the fan service is just a minor factor, is being ridiculous. I've read the manga, I've watched the show, I've played the games. I enjoy them all, but the story is half-assed at best. Often it can ~barely~ even manage to attain coherency.

Queen's Blade only works because of characters and fan service, the "story" is just a means to show both of these off.

Umm....I'm pretty sure Queen's blade has a story. It's not like you can't have "plot" and plot. I will say that the premise to QB is quite simple, which is a good thing IMO. I enjoy how the series can combine T&A with a story and characters I actually enjoy.
