^Seems pretty simple to me...
Peach is about halfway through being turned into a Yoshi. Notice how Mario looks upset and Yoshi... less so (Yoshi may be behind the transformation to begin with).

You're right about the feet though. I guess that's why Yoshis always wear shoes.

It's dinosaur feet. Yoshis are dinosaurs. Stop making a big deal about it, dinosaurs with human feet would be horrible, and I'm a foot person.
