^ YES, it is a bad thing.

I'm an artist myself, and I can tell you right now that if I caught someone tracing my artwork, I'd be seriously tempted to kick them in the throat.

Artwork takes a lot of time (ever hear the saying "you can't rush art"?), effort, and, if you're any good, skill (which is usually developed over years of hard work), so artists deserve respect, not to have some two-bit hack rip off their work.

Honestly, this sort of artwork is the type I actually hate (I don't come here for tits and asses), but even though I hate this type of thing, I STILL think artwork ought to be respected. Whether you're drawing super detailed fantasy landscapes, moe magical girls, giants tits, dicks, or photorealistic eggs, if you put in the effort, it should be respected.

Also, plagiarism is illegal, so there's that, too.

I like to think that it's an homage because the original is one of that guy's favorites. But I suppose that's a naive notion given that monetization is an issue. Or maybe he was just unaware that credit needs to be given where credit is due. Time will tell~

So it's like "Hey some punk trying to steal my anatomy/style for theirs D:< " Talk about laziness from that kind of thing.
