For those that don't know Japanese, the pun is, phonetically, "Panelo (Penelo) ga (particle) Pan Ero (Bread Ero(tic))". So Penelo's name in Japanese is basically bread porn. So she licks a baguette.

Actually the play isn't on bread porn (Pan Ero), but instead on rerorero (Pan Rero) the sound of licking. The picture says "Pan-ne-ro ga pan-re-ro" or "Penelo licks bread". The parenthesis reads "Pan o rerorero no ryaku" or "An abbreviation of licks bread."
