The familiar's name is "Elena" and she's basically sort of like a dark matter companion in the shape of a cat, from what Maritan says:
"Name: Elena
Staple food: Mari's mana (magic power), man's mana (magic power)
Elena is a new character that I came up with a while ago!
Elena is a cat that always sits on Mari's head, and sometimes takes the form of her tentacles.
Elena is like Dark Matter's companion.
She hasn't created her own story yet, but she plans to one day. But before that, let me just show you what it looks like."
