Sure, having a Pokemon game that plays like Tekken can work, but if Nintendo wants to make all the money they should make games in the style of Smash Brothers but with all the Pokemon. Sure, you might want to do something like grouping some of them by size (so the largest of the bunch can only fight one another) or type (fish-only battles), but it can be done.
