Is this all it takes to pass your strict quality requirements?

We do not have a system that keeps track of what is uploaded. I don't know why people think that we do. If an image is in question, you have to flag it to let the staff know.

Secondly, the artist is Japanese. Do not assume that all Japanese artist draw in "anime" style.

Assume? I'm referring to the low quality present in this picture which is apparently not low enough to warrant a deletion since you didn't try to delete it either.

Looks fairly clean to me (For a sketch). Sketches by Japanese artists are allowed as long as they don't hurt our eyes.

Take a look at post #1343746. Even I think it's low quality but the fact it was made by a game developer practically makes it official art. I wouldn't delete that unless another mod told me to.

post #2349201 is quite good for a sketch. I'd keep this.

post #1456154 This one looks more like one I'd want to delete. Not sure. I've flagged posts for quality before and got no answer from other mods so I just leave them alone unless it is obviously eye-gouging bad art.

Regarding those examples:

- post #1343746 has several errors. Broken outlines, coloring outside the lines, outlines going though parts they shouldn't, gaps in coloring. I would delete it.
- post #2349201 looks fine for the most part, but that left hand is disproportionate.
- post #1343746 is too rough and isn't even at the clean sketch or line art stages yet. I would delete it.

Regarding the current picture: Broken outlines, slightly disproportionate (Yes, I have seen this anime and know what it's supposed to look like.) and it looks like it was captured with a camera instead of a scanner. I would delete it.

Art by Japanese artists gets more leeway; the art would have to be super piss poor before it is deleted. The strict quality requirements are for non-Japanese artists.

Isn't that a little racist? I mean, letting subpar japanese art slide while deleting non-japanese art if it has the slightest imperfection, that is a country-based double standard. All pictures should undergo the same quality check regardless of where the artist is from.

Being that this site's theme is Japanese artists and culture, then no. Non-Japanese art is already against the rules by default and is only given exception to the rule per the staff for high quality.

If non-japanese art is against the rules then it shouldn't be given an exception at all. An exception to a rule is meant to refile the rule, not circumvent it.

*refine, not refile.
