Actually water on its own does not conduct electricity. Now, Salt water. That conducts electricity.

Anon 1 : true. swimming pool water and drinkable water too, as they are not purified water, they have ions in them. ;)
You don't want to make even skin contact with pure water, by the way, and if you drink it, it's a deadly poison. Through osmosis, your cell will explode to try and balance the conentration of ions and other things between the inner and outer waters of your cells.
