Best part about this fight is despite not inheriting much from his grandfather, and actually getting annoyed with him, Jotaru ultimately gets the edge on Dio throughout the fight using one of Joseph's key strengths: He outsmarts him and uses underhanded tricks.

Dio overpowers Jotaru throughout most of the fight in every way, partly because his stand's time-stop power, and party because Dio's a vampire, and already insanely strong physically. So what does Jotaru do? Tricks Dio into thinking he can't react during the "stillness" of the time-stop, playing dead when Dio thought he won, bashing his face in as a result, and ultimately came out on top right in the end when Dio thought he crushed him under a tractor.

Every Jojo has the inherent trait of not only facing off against seemingly impossible odds but also pulling off the most insane/genius tactics to do so.

Of course, being able to throw a shit ton of punches into the equation amplifies their badass levels quite nicely too.
