Back when Pokemon knew how to have fun and still had blatant fanservice. Compare this era of Pokemon to Best Wishes/Black & White - the difference is palpable.

This era of pokemon sucks. It's Ash completely unaware of everything going on around him as a girl is with him and actually in love with him, tries to get close and he's like "look, pokemon!'.
At least in the original pokemon they teased us that Ash had real human emotions and might have had feelings for Misty

^ Right? I think Bonnie and Serena are adorable, but Ash has become a totally different person. The new seasons barely even allow the characters to express negative emotions beyond mild frustration/disappointment. At least he and Misty bickered like real kids back then.
