You speak the damn language, i don't understand why you don't want to hear it. I never understood the whole dub/sub thing.
You don't understand japanese so how can you tell if its good? Maybe some jap dub you think is good is probably garbage to someone who actually speaks and understands it.

Acting is more than just understanding what is said. It's HOW it's said and conveyed through the actors voice. That's what it means to be an actor. The human voice can convey so much in tone and emotion alone that language isn't a big of a factor as you realize.

Exactly. The problem with dubs is that they are usually HORRIBLE, the voices totally don't fit the given character, the situation, the hentai or anime genre at all. It's like watching an awkward highschool nerd trying to dance with the prom queen. It may still be dancing, but you cringe when you watch it anyway.

That's because a lot of good voice actors are either strictly union based and won't take jobs out of it or are just that expensive because they're big names.
The problem is that compared to Japan where voice acting is a big, big money making job, in the west it's not quite the case unless you're a huge name. It pays, but not a whole lot.
So a lot of voices are done on the cheap. And a lot of those who will work cheap are new and probably not that good.
Don't think this is a bad thing, though. Many started off mediocre or bad and eventually became good.

It isn't about speaking the language or not speaking the language. There is so much more to it that most people will probably have a hard time putting their finger on why they prefer the original Japanese voices over dubs. All I know is that Japanese voices are aesthetically pleasing to me, and I enjoy listening to them. Just like how I hate English pop but greatly enjoy Japanese pop. It is not just a matter of understanding.
