1. He is famous as a politician not a warrior.
2. Roman view being fat positively.
3. Give more variety than another bishonen or genderswap pandering.

Julius Caesar was actually considered one of the greatest swordsmen of Rome at the time, and while his fame as a warrior in itself isn't that great, he is wildly considered one of the greatest generals in history, and was more then willing to enter battle personally, as seen in the Battle of Alesia.
