Hope the pressure of competition from Yokai Watch forces Gamefreak to innovate in good ways. Replace HMs with items like the Eon Flute, build on the multiplayer and competitive scene which they have over YW, introduce evos and m-evos to make more old pokes viable...

Pokemon's an institution, Yokai Watch is not so much threatening it as capturing a new generation of the same market with a broadly similar premise. Pokemon is suffocating itself under the weight of its own age just fine.

Yokai Watch is a successful franchise and Pokemon is still a successful franchise. Why do people keep acting as if they can't both exist at the same time?

Anon1 here, I wasn't saying they can't coexist, the opposite actually, I hope their coexistence will help move Pokemon as a franchise forward, since they no longer have a monopoly on the whole monster catching thing.
