So far i do wonder which one feels the more forced, comedy-wise : GT or Super ? Neither being even remotely on par with the beginings of the Dragon ball saga, if you ask me...
This picture, while beautiful on its own, sums it all up about the problems with Super and his forced humour. Look at Vegeta, watching suspiciously at his food. Is that supposed to be funny ? The guy's the sayian prince for crying out loud (should be king but i digress) and has proven many times in the past to be pride-driven (aside from the figting-driven part common to all pure-blood sayians). Does a fight for honnor between such a guy and a ball of meat sound fun to anybody ? Not to me that's or sure...
And yes, i get that it's a reference to when he cooked them to calm down Beerus but once again, Vegeta cooking anything ? Next thing i'm expecting is proud Vegeta being used as a soubrette by Beerus. Oh wait it actually happenned...

Vegeta is so pathetic here. He was way better in the old days like when Frieza made him cry, or When a falling ape Gohan crushed him, or when Bulma made him take a shower. How the might have fallen. He was more interesting when he just stood in the background and said nothing.

Forget Vegeta, I'm most upset about how out-of-character Goku and Goten are.
Goku should automatically be anywhere food is.
Goten should be shoving the things down his throat with no regard for how hot they are, only to complain later that he's burned himself.
