I am German and I've never seen the term "Feldgendarmerie" used at all. I'd say we would call Military Police "Militärpolizei".

That's German military police of WWII. They were responsible for execution of deserters. That name was changed because of bad associations.

Well I'm German as well and the official term today is "Feldjäger". Feldgendarmerie is rather old fashioned an was used WW2 and before.
