In a lot of asian countries the shower is the toilet ... ie: the place you squat to poop and pee is also the outlet for shower water. So, peeing while showering isn't too uncommon. It is seen as a bit uncouth, but it would be like in a gym shower in the states and you see some guy blow his nose on his hand and wash it off. It's disgusting, but you just chock it up to some people not having manners and get on with your life.

Anon1, if you notice, none of these women were peeing in the swimming pools. THAT is disgusting (no matter how much the pee is diluted by gallons of water) and rude (thinking that your lack of regard for other people's swimming experience can be excused by the amount of chlorinated water in the pool).

So I would say that the asians are much more respectful (and clean!), compared to us "civilized western folk."

And don't compare it to blowing the nose into one's hand: this is either done because of a very unexpected sneeze (no handkerchief), or rudeness (simply does not care what s/he will do with this hand afterward).
