- Meanwhile the female will be hunting down more victims in the school yard in this new assembly line breeding strategy to keep males off their backs and also increase the size and variety of their new breeding brood.

While I don't know of any organism where the male devours the female as part of mating, there are species that use others as incubators for their young with hatchlings eating the incubator from the inside out. Don't know if any spiders do this, but I know some insects do.
