This entire series feels like fanfiction. Even their clothes look like chinese bootlegs.

To be fair to the little guy, Goku didn't seem to be particularly holding back. Even in his base form, he's probably as strong as Cell by now, and Monaka didn't even MOVE. Yeah sure, his face was a little smashed in for comic effect, but otherwise it was still a typical DBZ treatment of a character no-selling someone's punch/kick to their face.
