On the off chance that anyone is still curious about how to personally achieve this position:
[Get limber: Wear loose, non-restrictive clothes: Stop at any point you feel like your hurting yourself!]
Sit cross legged;
Take note of which side has the foot tucked under it from the outside of the knee (as opposed to the one that would be tucked between your calf and thigh);
From your sitting position, lay on your side of the foot position noted in the previous step;
Try to keep your foot planted on the ground while moving your other leg to lay flat all the way out (like you're threading a needle between your foot and your butt);
Push yourself up from the ground with one arm while placing your other hand on your knee;
Adjust knee to be perpendicular to the ground and look toward the direction of your feet.
Viola! You are now in her flattering pose.
Easy enough for me, and I have early onset arthritis.
