Only Shiny Pokemon I ever caught were a Noctowl and a Weedle (not counting Lake of Rage's Red Gyarados of course). Don't remember much about that Noctowl but Weedle became one badass Beedrill.

With enough time and patience you can get almost any Pokemon shiny in game I've nabbed at least 50 Myself not including Freebies Repeats or Chain Fished Just always be prepared and have TONS of Pokeballs even if u don't think you need them

hunting for shinies kills the surprise feeling you get by simply running into 1 , i was playing OR and was using repels in victory road , ran out and found a shiny Hariyama , love that feeling

I caught a shiny Gyarados. No, not one from the Lake of Rage. I caught it while fishing in Platinum. Shinies are special, we all know that, but it's hard to get excited about a red Gyarados when pretty much everyone has one (and even harder considering I got two from HG and SS).

In summary:
me: It's a shiny!
everyone: Yay!
me: It's a shiny Gyarados!
everyone: Who cares?

^ The only Gyarados that don't have any value are Gen 6 ones since Chain fishing isn't difficult and the Lake of Rage Gyarados Yours IS Special and Rare it's a Sinnoh Gyarados and that will show on it's summery forever even if it's not the Rarest shiny in the games it's still a mark of your fortune

I hunted one of my own in my Ruby version way back so mines marked with Hoenn and still use her Don't let other people diminish what's special to you :3
