And just like that, for the sake of some more easy Z nostalgia "flash of the past" scenes, we're all supposed to completely ignore the fact that the 18 of this time period has absolutely NO idea of what future Trunks went through with her and her brother's future selves.
For her, he shouldn't be any different than th Vegeta, Gohan, Goku, etc that she knows.
But since over 90% of the fanbase just remembers "Trunks" and "Android18" were involved in "that Terrible Future", then the producers know doing something like this will be enough to seem cool for most of them.

That Krillin went and happily relayed in full detail (details that he didn't know btw) to his wife the tale about this horrible future where a demented version of herself did horrible things he never saw her do, but some guy did.
Because that's totally in-character for him, and a perfectly normal development we're supposed to expect that happened because sure, why not, nostalgia and impossible callbacks are the best cash cow afterall.
This is exactly what I'm talking about. Its precisely this part of the supposed "fanbase", which defends this garbage with the idiotic plot, plotholes and obvious attempts to cater to people's desperation at not having DB for decades, that I expect to try and come up with whatever BS explanation they can so they won't have to admit how stupid this whole thing is. Toriyama himself is laughing at people for eating up all this crap, just because because it has the same name as that other thing he did years ago that was cool.
Get the condescending "you're a retard" tone? Go get some common sense.
Also, if you'd actually read the manga, you'd know that has 0 relevance here. Just throwing that line around when its not even applicable, only reinforces the idea that you didn't read it at all.
