Many people can say a lot of bad things about the pokemon anime and for the most part they'd be right. However, they would also have to admit how much it has also evolved and how much edgier and darker it is.

Makes me wonder why? is it because the creators know the pokemon fanbase is all grown up now? or is i because kids these days want darker, edgier stuff?
This is coming from someone who stopped watching the anime when Johto ended, by the way.

I think it's mostly because they're proving they can and do try new stuff. People always say this anime is repetitive, but think about it. Have we ever seen something of this magnitude happening in previous series?
