Something about that facial expression just says "hopeful, slightly anxious friendliness" way more than it says the expected "raawr, I'mma kill you!" Not sure what the artist was going for here.

Going off of the other four images with the "nejiyanagi_yuuko" tag this seems normal for the character though. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
