I'd like to point out, until MetalGreymon, Agumon and Greymon dont follow the above picture. same could honestly be said for a lot of digimon. One of my favorites, Lilymon, has none of what this picture says makes a digimon...
I'm probably missing the joke, but still...kinda feels like the Artist didn't even watch Digimon..

You are right. But for the most part, the design of a digimon is to be monstrous or have something about that is man-made/mechanical.
The subtitle is DIGITAL MONSTERS for a reason, while Pokémon tries it's damnedest to make people forget that the cutesy, collectable creatures are monsters.
