If they let Ash grow up, this would be it!

@Anons 1+2: You couldn't be more right, especially after his XY self came so utterly close to it. Sadly, with the upcoming SM Ash, this style of Ash will never grace our lives, instead he's getting hit by the dum-dum ray again. It'll only exist as a distant dream.

Saddening that rather than keep going forward with XY Ash, they'd rather pull a Unova 2.0. Because that went so well, apparently. I mean, who knows, they could make it so that he's dumb and goofy in SM, but is a total badass in battles, but it's not looking likely.

I wish that Serena's unexpected kiss made Ash "level up" like this for Alola...

Seriously... Ash could become one of the greatest Protagonists in Anime if they let him, but they keep him stoic. And constantly the "kid" who keeps losing when it really matters like the league battles.. Look at Red and all the respect he gets as a character and then Ash by comparesson in feats and accomplishments

Imagine Son-Goku if he never won any of his important fights? what would Dragonball be then? Any other main protagonist would fail to earn respect if they never claimed victory We want to see the hero triumph in the end we always do. When they don't allow Ash to reach that pinnacle and instead hold him back by writing in Fixed battle results where he loses in order to remind everyone of that "winning isn't everything" and "learn from losing" moral they've pushed since the beginning he will never accomplish what he set out to do in the first place... He won't even come close.

now Ash is being reset and sent to a region for what purpose? there's no gyms there no badges to collect how does that help him become a Pokemon Master? or is he just suddenly going to 180 like Brock did and change his priorities?
