while guzzlord looks nothing like what pokemon commonly look like, it can be excused because it is being an ultra beast,a being that perhaps not a pokemon at all

Maybe these beasts are the result of a rich secret society that wanted to transcend above what their wealth could not buy and viewed bestiality as achieving some form of immortality.

Kinda weird, but I think the Gen 4 legends were the farthest departure from standard Pokemon design.

This thing was originally called Gluttony...wait, are the Ultra Beasts all some sort of allegory to the 7 Deadly Sins? There are seven of them after all if we don't include UB-01. UB-02 would obviously represent lust, and UB-02 Absorption would probably either be Greed or Wrath. Perhaps UB-03 Lighting is...Pride? (In reference to Lucifer as the "Morning Star")

^ I was thinking the same thing. In Azure Striker: Gunvolt, the boss that represents Pride fights with light, so UB-03 is what I assume is the equivalent.

It's now confirmed that the Ultra Beasts are in fact Pokemon, they're just from a different dimension than the normal one. So while unlikely it is possible we could see more of these extra dimensional Pokemon in future gens.
