Official materials (The 20th anniversary book) suggest that they're PROBABLY the same person, with Ado being a nickname, but even it doesn't say for sure whether they're two different characters or the same one.

Hmm...I always thought they were siblings. And that Ado was a guy while Adeleine was a girl.
