KonoSuba, one of the VERY few anime in recent years that didn't have to rely entirely on shitty, unfunny "slapstick" or constant abuse of the MC to get laughs.

Looking back at the past 2 seasons I'd say Konosuba is the main anime that has relied on the suffering of the main characters for comedy. Was there a single episode of this show where something bad doesn't happen to the main cast? Is there a comedy that came out recently that I'm missing?

You're missing the point, my point was that Kazuma wasn't constantly PHYSICALLY abused by his female companions like in many other similar shows for cheap laughs. That's what I like about it; I like that the slapstick wasn't limited to Kazuma exclusively, everyone suffers in one way or another. It feels a lot more balanced and real to me that way.

That really isn't rare.

Yes, it is. What shows have you been watching?

I honestly can't think of any new shows like that. Can anyone name recent Anime that fits this stereotype?

That's what makes it a good comedy.
None of the named cast is spared the spotlight. Everybody gets their moment in it.

Well it's less of a "spotlight" and more "hilariously crowning embarassment/humiliation" but yes, Konosuba is brilliant because the main characters all end up suffering for their dorky quirks and antics in one amusing way or another
