I keep trying to imagine how differently it would've been if Asuka tried something naughty with Shinji that night when she went to lye down next to him in his bed and they went for it.

And then one of these scenes that's replaced with her having a slightly pregnant showing belly instead without the cover when she standing upright or this way when Misato catches her exposed.

That would've been a shock for Shinji 14 years later in 3.0 if it wasn't Sakura or just her that introduced herself to him... but both Asuka's and his daughter instead.
