Well, in all fairness, Zelda, like Link, is reincarnated EVERY game. Meanwhile, Saria is only in one, Malon is in one (technically two or three, if you don't count alternate names) and Ruto is in one. Link/Zelda seems like the most logical pairing.

On the other hand, since Zelda's in way more games, it makes sense to go for Saria or Ruto while you can, Malon in the other games she's in, and then settle on Zelda for the rest.
