No actually anon 1 is correct, communism was suppose to be an intermediate step between capitalism and anarchic communal societies.
If you don't believe me read the communist manifesto. It's only ~40 pages and available online in the public domain.
Of course in reality those who take power in this intermediate stage quickly become corrupt and refuse to give up power making functional communism significantly different than theoretical communism.

One has to wonder whether Marx really would have done anything different had be been alive long enough to see the creation of the USSR. History is littered with political theorists who change their minds once they actually get into power.
