I admit this is what I honestly feel should've happened.

Meer Campbell was obsessed with being Lacus to the point that it could be called genuine love. She needs the real Lacus to comfort.

I know some may be turned off by the "selfcest" vibe... but Lacus had already seen what the real Meer looked like before her change. This relationship could be beautiful.
