It did happen in the first series. Envy pretends to be the Preacher in that town and he never died, and eventually war breaks loose in that town and Rose is protecting children and they show one slapping her and and smiling evilly, and the screen switches to whats happening with Ed. They never actually show her being raped lol

No, it's true, they don't actually show it happening; it's an anime, not a full-on hentai, after all. Still, she's captured by sadistically grinning soldiers and smacked around... and the next we see of her, she's catatonic, holding a baby, and being referred to as 'Holy Mother'. I don't think it's hard to put 2 and 2 together in this case.

And I can see Dante being just enough of a psycho bitch to be getting off on Rose's catatonia.
