If the cross was used for this more often, I think Christianity would be a lot more fun.

Don't be surprised;the Romans also put women on the cross, but,they were put in front of the cross rather than behind her backs; most of the time naked or with some ropes that cover her bodies. Looks like the Romans invented new funny ways to torture women,like in the picture above.
