If you read the Enterprise's wiki article, she probably has one of the most anime stories of any WWII ship. 3 sisters created before the war, they see pearl harbor, change the war forever at midway, but one of the Enterprise's sisters dies. Enterprise goes on to fight in nearly every major battle of the pacific war, she gets a badass nickname for coming back from the dead 3 times, and at one point when her last sister dies - she is the only carrier in the entire pacific fighting the japanese. The lone sister survives the war a hero, becoming the most decorated U.S. ship in history.................... only to be sold for scrap 15 years later, she was betrayed at the very end.

Her story is made for anime.
