I think we're safe, I can actually see Godzilla in the dark this time. They seemed to learn that lesson as early as Kong: Skull Island, I could see King Kong and the big Skullcrawler at night just fine.
2014 though, yeah what the hell happened? You could see them at the airport fine but than the night time in the final fight...yeesh.

I don't know if anyone noticed or not, but someone made an AWESOME fan-made trailer with clips of the recent Godzilla king of the monsters more a kin to the classic toho Godzilla trailer, more specifically, Ghidorah the three-headed monster. It's genius.
