Evangelion: Midlife Crisis. While dropping off the kids at school Shinji suddenly realizes that he's sick and tired of getting beaten up by Asuka, who unable to deal with the memory of her mother's suicide has taken refuge in alcohol. He immediately rushes home where he leaves a note saying that he's gone forever, empties their bank account and buys a motorcycle. Later that same week he hooks up with a teenage Rei clone which he travels to America with, just to abandon her two months later in a Nevada roadside motel.

I'd honestly rather have something like this as opposed to the Rebuild series. Wish I knew how things worked out for Asuka and Shinji post-Third Impact :(

After showing how much they hate each other, I'm sure asuka is shinji is gonna live happy ever after like some damn disney movie ending. Cause asuka is just gonna forget how badly shinji treated her in EOE. I must be the only one who know she not the type of woman let some piece of shit like shinji get away whit treating her like garbage.
