1: The Wii U was shit. Everyone knew it was shit. NOBODY wanted to develop for it, INCLUDING staff at Nintendo. Not wanting to put your game on a console that was born to die is not a mistake.
2: Skullgirls was released in 2012. It saw player peaks of 500~ in 2013, 260~ in 2014 and has maintained 100-200 players on steam regularly since its release. It is not, and never will be big. It is much too niche to be the next Street Fighter or Tekken, despite being widely more accessible than either of them.
