The benefits of not rushing into marriage is clear. It also kind of helps that they’re both more patient, knowledgeable and mature than Goku and Chi-Chi. Goku was not aware and ready for that kind of commitment and responsibility at that stage in his life and considering how he is now, I doubt that marriage ever really suited him.
Chi-Chi is probably more of his caretaker and the bearer of his children than an actual partner or the love of his life.
