He isn't exactly Holy. He is a Good guy, but he is still of the "dark" mold.

After all, when Soma Dual Crashes with a Belmont, it produces a Blood Cross instead of the traditional Holy cross. Blood Cross is the same dual crash that happens when ALUCARD Dual Crashes with a Belmont.

Like they told him in Aria, he's on the side of light, but his powers are dark.

The real Vlad was a hero of the Church against the Ottomans. He even fought against his Muslim brother, but his own cruelty undid him. Now, he's a villain in the eyes of most, only tourist attractions and Castlevania allow for his short lived glory.
