She was literally too hot for a kids show so they put in Iris instead. I was so pissed because I was looking forward to the porn explosion of her when she was finally introduced. Fortunately there's plenty of material anyway, and Pokemon Masters is at least giving her some deserved time in the spotlight.

There's a little thing called Timing. Some of those Shows were Aired in Japan before coming to the West getting hit by all forms of Censorship, in including Queer Censorship. For example Uranus & Neptune were "Cousins" here in the States... <3

You are aware that Misty's outfit in the anime is way more clothed then in the games? In the original R/G/B/Y sprite and FRLG she wore nothing but a bikini. That didn't appear in the anime all the way until the Sun & Moon anime with the swimming episode.
