Oh man if that doesn’t bring back New Hope and Empire flashbacks of Leia kissing Luke. What was the reason for her relationship with Han not working out again?

Because Disney is full of frauds that can't actually write for shit, so they had to make everything just be like it was in the original trilogy.

Of course, the whole Luke and Leia thing was Lucas not being able to write for shit, and just scrapped the plans for Luke's sister to be a Jedi in her own right being trained on the other side of the galaxy and to have her own trilogy, and just rolled her into Leia when he decided that nah, there wouldn't be a sequel trilogy.

A lot like Vader being Anakin, really. He couldn't figure out how to make Anakin fit in the original trilogy, so he just made Vader and Anakin, then two different characters, into the same character.
